Pods

I wanted to depict small mechanical universes which are being split apart by forces from within. I am always striving to push boundaries in seemingly confined geometric limits. It is an exercise in balance, depth and movement. I like to experiment with built shapes conforming a terrain that is uneven and plagued by debris and secured by light scaffold but still conveying my obsession for uncertain pockets of instability.

Pod Flow Triptych

I collected all process studies in a single trajectory to develop the pod pieces and grouped them as one narrative. Starting with the elements then the assemblage and finally the genesis of a detached pod at the end of the long line. I tested all the elements that form my personal imagery playing with continuity and fraction...always taking the composition to the limit of what is constructed and what is really an imaginary construct.
